CHARACTER DESIGN

Before you attempt to create a character, we would recommend that you do some sketches of your ideas. From these initial sketches, a final idea will evolve. With two-dimensional animation, it is then essential that you make a character sheet that shows every possible view point of your character. This can then be used as a reference and will ensure that there is continuity throughout your production.

The character sheet on this page (right) was one that I used for a film I made featuring a Gameboy character. It is not necessary to do as many sketches as I have here, although it may prove useful to sketch out your ideas for the way the character might move as I have in this example.
